Superminis built for the Asian market and later imported into Europe are usually quite strange. For example, the all offer underpowered small petrol engines, have… unique styling and most offer only limited trunk space.
The Nissan Micra is one such car. The previous generation was built in England at the Sunderland plant but its replacement is imported from India or Thailand. It does, however, have some redeeming features, like the efficiency of its CVT gearbox and the relatively affordable entry price.

The fourth-gen Nissan Micra was unveiled in 2010 at the 80th International Geneva Motor Show. Three years later, it's getting ready for a facelift. These are the very first photos of a significant redesigned car spotted during a photo shoot. As you can see in the photos below, it being chased by people with cameras, like the star it wants to be.

The little Nissan has gained some new design elements, such as a larger upper grille, more chrome, resculpted headlights and even a couple of creases on the roof. Most people won't notice those, but they will notice the very substantial chrome surrounds for the fog lights.

We don't know what's in store for the interior, but at an interview during week's Geneva Motor Show, Etienne Henry, Nissan's VP Product planning, told IndianAutosBlog they are planning to add "more refinement and more premium-ness to the interior."

We're thinking that "premium-ness" will come in the form of some extra bits of trim, and more kit for the lower trim levels, since the top Micra already has electric everything, including parking sensors or electric folding mirrors.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
