Glorious and dramatic past weekend at Assen, the Netherlands, as 9-times world champion Valentino Rossi claimed his first victory of the season, and his highest podium back on Yamaha machinery.
Cal Cruthlow started from his first-ever pole position, but it looks like there is a lot to learn for the Brit, as he fell back 4 places during the initial laps. However, Cruthlow showed impressive skils a s he never let go and came bak ap after lap, claiming his third podium in a row.

Between The Doctor and Crutchlow, Assen saw the Repsol Honda rookie Marc Marquez. Dani Pedrosa came in 4th while the most unbelievable race came from Jorge Lorenzo, back on his Yamaha 36 hours after a surgery in Spain to "plate and screw" his collarbone, fractured on Thursday during a terrible crash.

While Lorenzo declared that simply making it to the checkered flag would equal a victory under such conditions and he would aim to get 5 points if he could, we saw the Spaniard put up a tremendous race from the 12th position on the starting grid.

Awesome battle between Ducati's Dovizioso and Hayden for place 10, and an overall amazing weekend in Assen, with Bautista being the fastest CRT rider and getting the better of Aleix Espargaro.

The current world standings still see Pedrosa leading Lorenzo by 9 points (136 to 127), follwed by Marquez with 113, Crutchlow 87 and Rossi in 5th only 2 points down the Brit. MotoGP goes to Germany's Sachsenring in two weeks' time.
