Dani Pedrosa leads the the first Free Practice at Sepang, ahead of the overseas triple header. Weather in Malaysia was overcast, but with no rain, so the Spaniard topped Marquez and Lorenzo, setting the pace of the first Sepang official outing to 2m01s229.
Marquez and Lorenzo are very close to each other, but both about 0.4s slower. Pedrosa won at Sepang last year, and he knows the circuit well. Even more, he intends to do his best in the Sunday race and keep intact his mathematical chances for a clean shot at the 2013 title.

No less than 95% of the available 80,000 tickets for the race day are already sold, and it looks like the extensive promotion campaigns the Sepang International Circuit management has been involved with are paying off in full.
