Tough luck for Yamaha and their top rider Jorge Lorenzo, as he is out of the race for this weekend's German Grand Prix at Sachsenring.
The reigning champion crashed in Turn 10, and the highside projected him on the track, left shoulder first, just like his crash two weeks ago at Assen. Doctor Enric Caceres, MotoGP Medical Team Headmaster declared that the 8 screws which keep the titanium plate in place are in the correct position, but it looks like the plate itself in bent.
Dr. Caceres added that a new surgery is most likely to pe performed and that Jorge suffered from pains in his left side of the upper thorax.
Definitely missing the German round as he is to be operated today, Lorenzo might miss Laguna Seca, as well. Dr. Caceres recommended that Jorge rested for two weeks, and we'll see how he's performing after the surgery. No matter whether he'll be back for the next US round or not, we're wishing him a fast recovery with no complications.
