Great weekend for LCR Honda rider Stefan Bradl at Laguna Seca, as he got his first MotoGP pole position in his career and following that, his first-ever podium finish. Bradl crossed the finish line in the second position and ahead of Valentino Rossi.
The fastest rider at Laguna Seca was Marc Marquez, now 16 points ahead of his team mate Dani Pedrosa and 27 clear of Jorge Lorenzo.

The injured top riders, Lorenzo and Pedrosa decided to race, none of them willing to lose points just as easy. Despite Pedrosa's serious concerns and thoughts of sitting out, he managed to finish in the 5th position, critically getting ahead of Lorenzo. Crutchlow had a terrible weekend and finished 7th, causing him to switch positions with Rossi in the current stnadings.

With riders Espargaro and de Puniet out of the race, Avintia Blusens' Hector Barbera was the fastest on a CRT machine. As the Laguna is the shortest track in the whole calendar, it should be small wonder that no less than 5 riders were lapped. A minute of silnce was kept in the memory of Supesrport rider Andrea Antonelli, killed in a crash at the Moscow Raceway. Times and race results after the jump.

MotoGP takes a break until August 16-18 at Indianapolis, and half-season sees the following top 10: Marquez, Pedrosa, Lorenzo, Rossi, Crutchlow, Bradl, Dovizioso, Bautista, Hayden abd Espargaro.
