2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo Makes Video Debut

Hyundai has added a bit of spice to its lineup with a more powerful Veloster version, that comes with a brand new 1.6-liter T-GDI engine and 201 hp, enough to fight the Golf GTI and MINI Cooper S. To go with the batch of photos the automaker released at the Detroit debut, we now have a B-roll video of the coupe with a difference.
This is the first application of the 201 hp engine that also makes 195 lb-ft (264Nm) of torque from 1,750-4,500. Hyundai says the engine is available with either a six-speed manual or an optional automatic with wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Initial estimates put the economy figures at a mightily impressive 27 mpg city and 38 mpg highway for the manual.

Looks wise, the Turbo has a more aggressive front end with new bumpers, fog lights and grille. The wheelarches have been widened and the single center-mounted exhaust has been changed for two sporty-looking oval tips.
