Thought you knew everything about Ford? We did, but today we learned they had an engine we knew nothing about. The Fiesta facelift was launched in Malaysia over the weekend and instead of the usual 1.6-liter engine, they fitted it with a 1.5-liter unit.
It's called the 1.5 Ti-VCT, a variable valve timing four-cylinder which despite being smaller than the 1.6 it replaces has 112 PS at 6,300 rpm and 140 Nm at 4,400 rpm of torque. This engine is fitted to both the sedan and 5-door hatchback models sold in Malaysia and is paired to a six-speed dual-clutch PowerShift transmission, which now comes with a SelectShift mode so you can change gears yourself.
In Malaysia, both cars are sold with an extensive 5-year or 200,000 warranty and 3-year or 60,000 km free standard service plan.
