We had this coming for some time, as it was a matter of "when", rather than one of "if", but the wait is over: Akrapovic shows their silencer for the new BMW R1200GS, and it looks like things couldn't get any better than this.
This is exactly what the new R1200GS was missing: a high-performance slip-on exhaust in racing trim with EC Type-approved engineering, bringing even more attitude to an already nifty adventure-touring machine.
The new slip-on muffler is faithful to the Akrapovic fame: killer dual-exist looks with a selected titanium alloy sleeve, carbon fiber end cap, a deep resonant tone to please the ear and increased power and torque throughout the RPM range.
All of the above also come with a 1kg (2 lbs) weight reduction, carbon heat shield, increased throttle response and the possibility to use the regular panniers, too. No price was announced yet, but you can check more tech data and the way the upgraded 2013 BMW R1200GS sounds following this link.
