The guys from Car and Driver Magazine decided they deserve to be treated like kings so they took a brand new BMW 7 Series out for a test drive. This was no ordinary 7er though. They picked the biggest, baddest one of all, the 760Li.
Priced at about $50,000 (€38,000) more than the V8 version, this V12 powered beast had to prove its worth. The extra 4 cylinder really make a difference, but only if you're in the driver's seat. Actually, come to think about it, this car is a lot better when it's actually driven, instead of being used as a limousine. Why be chauffeured when you can destroy sports cars at stoplights with this monster?

The engine puts out 544 HP and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque due to its twin-turbo design. Hooked up to the 8-speed automatic transmission, this car will launch with its nose up high from any stoplight, and will get you up to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.6 seconds (that's M3 territory).

The list of options probably includes everything you could possibly wish to have inside a car. The one they tested had every little bit of technology in it, except the rear massaging seats (that cost $200), and the price tag added up to a total of $159,395 (€123,302). That's a lot, it's even more than the more powerful Alpina B7 (but the B7 has a smaller engine).

However, this car is destined exclusively for people who care more about the badge and not the price. It's for people who can afford to buy it and not even drive it. They turn to such a car for its prestige, comfort and sound (both inside and out) and prefer to relax on the backseat after a long business day and let someone else drive it. They don't care about the price, because they know that if you want premium quality you have to pay for it.
