After reviewing the most luxurious car BMW has to offer, the 760i and its smaller brother, the 750i, it's time to take a look at their cheaper brother, the 740Li through the lenses of the guys from Autoguide.
If the 750i and 760i models are powered by big V8 and V12 units, the 740Li has only a 3-liter turbocharged unit under its bonnet that delivers 326 HP and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque in US spec, kind-of similar to the engine found on the much smaller M135i.

The "L" on the boot lid, as we all know, states that this version is a bit longer than your average 7er, 5.5 inches longer (14 cm) to be exact. Almost all of that extra length translates into extra leg room for the occupants of the back seats.

Being a 2013 model, the F01 has some new optional features available, like: active adaptive LED headlights, xDrive transmission and the 8-speed automatic gearbox (which drastically improves fuel consumption).

The car is a smooth operator all day long and, even though you might think the 3-liter engine is a little small for such an impressive car, the car is not slow at all and feels just as responsive as ever.
