The new ultra-premium saloon Maserati Ghibli has made its official debut at this year’s Shanghai Motor Show, promising to be very appealing to customers who want to be different.
Taken from its two-door body from the 1960s to the new four-door saloon design, Maserati wants to break new ground in the E-segment market, dominated by rivals such as BMW 5-series and Mercedes E-class.

Based on Quattroporte’s platform, the Maserati Ghibli is 4,970 mm long and it will be offered with three power setups – a 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel producing 271bhp and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) and a 3.0-liter V6 turbocharded petrol engine, available in two states of tune (410 bhp/550 Nm and 330 bhp/500 Nm). Each engine will be bolted to a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox that will feature steering-mounted paddle shifters and it will send power to the back as well as both axles.

The interior will be leather-trimmed as standard and a Bowers & Wilkins sound system will be offered as an option along with other technical features.
