Here’s a bit of a sticky situation. We’ve looked over the 4C Concept thoroughly when we first saw it in Geneva back in March this year, and we’ve said time and time again that its designers have sneaked a convertible option into its lines.
However, last week we reported on a rumor that Alfa Romeo wants a new Spider model that would rival the MX-5. The bad news was that it would only have about 150 or so horsepower from a detuned 1.75 liter engine, which is way down on the new 1.8-liter turbo going into the 4C, which Alfa Revealed as having 300 full horsepower.

The rendering you see was created by the graphic artists of Teamspeed, who wanted to show what the convertible 4C might look like. Let’s hope that Marchionne is watch and he hears the industry’s cries for this Spider and not just a diluted hatch tuned into a convertible.
