The hotrod is an American icon, which has changed little since the 1930s and 1940s. However, while they are still popular today, even with modernized running gear, cars built on the base of an actual and origina period car don’t offer handling characteristics comparable to those of modern cars, mainly due to the use of ladder chassis and leaf springs.
For those who want the classic ‘30s hot rod look, yet aren’t necessarily interested in actually having an old car, Factory Five Racing is offering a very nice alternative, it the form of their ’33 Hot Rod, which we got some very nice shots of, at this year’s edition of the SEMA show.

The car comes in the form of a “build-it-yourself kit. The kit comes with everything you need to build your car, except for running gear. The Factory Five Hot Rod delivers period-correct looks and modern sports car handling”, according to the official sheet.
