Only a couple of weeks are left until the Geneva Auto Show opens its doors for all Europeans, and not only, to come and witness what the world's finest manufacturers have prepared for the coming years. And, as it usually happens, those car makers have already begun showing what the stars of the show will be for them. For Mercedes Benz, one of the most anticipated appearances at the show will be the new C-Klasse coupe, whose details and a more extensive gallery were released over the weekend. Powered by a choice of only two new engines, a 201 hp four cylinder (C250) and a 302 hp V6 (C350), the new coupe plans to preview the next generation C-Klasse sedan, which will be released later this year. Packed with technology (starting from the wide array of telematics systems and ending with the not less so array of safety features), the new two-door C-Klasse plans to tap into a market segment until recently occupied by the CLK: that of youthful, stylish and expressive people (read a target group which usually goes for the coupe versions of the BMW 3 Series and the Audi A5).. "By extending the C-Class portfolio, we are consciously targeting new customers," said Joachim Schmidt, head of Sales and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Cars. "What we are offering is an exceptionally sporty way to enter the world of the Mercedes-Benz coupe." autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
