2012 McLaren MP4-12 GT3 Is Unhinged Perfection

Here you are the new McLaren MP4-12C modified in order to race in the Fia GT3 Championship. The twin turbo V8 engine of the MP4 GT3 produces less power, compared to the road legal car, by about 100 hp, but the performance is enhanced by the fact there is so little on the car. Fortunately, the headlights have been left in, so you can enjoy a bit of track action at night as well.
Both these videos were taken at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, in Intaly. The car is fitted with McLaren’s carbon fiber MonoCell with aluminium front and rear frames and bespoke carbon body panels.

The power is delivered to the back via a six-speed sequential gearbox that’s controlled via paddles behind the wheel. In fact, the steering wheel is derived from the one used in McLaren’s F1 car.
