In order to decrease both congestion and pollution, California has come up with the idea of the High Occupancy Vehicle lanes, which you can’t use if you’re the only one in the car, because only at least two people have to be in it. However, last year they changed the rules and allowed you to be alone in the car if you’re in an electric car or one that’s powered by CNG. Now, the Chevy Volt equipped with the Low Emissions Package has been granted access.
"The Volts with the Low Emissions Package are certain to be a strong draw for California commuters looking to travel the state’s notoriously congested freeways in the carpool lane”, said Chris Perry, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing.

The California Department of Motor Vehicles is making 40,000 Clean Air Stickers available for registered vehicles that meet the state’s emissions standards. So if your car is eligible, grab yours fast!

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
