2012 Bentley Continental GT Teased, Video Included

Bentley is apparently getting ready to debut the new Continental GT model which, according to various sources, is likely to see daylight as soon as September 7. As always, the luxury car manufacturer intends to stir interest before the official debut of the car through the release of some teasers that give us a very limited glimpse of what to expect from the new model.

The video released by Bentley shows an updated model, rather than a completely new vehicle, as the company claims. Judging by the clip, changes will be limited (as far as we can see at this point) to the front fascia, with new headlights plus a new design for the rear lights.

The navigation and infotainment system is also one of the main stars in the new vid, but no other details are currently available. Other slight modifications are also visible, but we have to expect the official details to be sure which exactly are the features to make it on the new model.

As for the engine, rumors are suggesting that the future Continental GT might use an upgraded version of the current twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W12 engine that would bring a minor power boost. The current configuration develops 610 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 750 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm, while pushing the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. Maximum speed, if not electronically limited, goes up to 326 km/h.

As said, the car will be unveiled on September 7, with the first public display to take place at the Paris Auto Show that opens its doors to the press later the same month.
