2011 Volkswagen Jetta on Sale for $5,995

Volkswagen has just announced a new special campaign for the last month of 2010, offering three Jettas at promotional prices on online flash sale website Gilt. For those of you who are still looking for a Christmas present, the Jettas are prices at only $5,995 but there are still a few catches here.

First of all, Volkswagen will offer only three cars to be sold through the website, one of which will be exclusively available to members accessing Gilt from mobile applications on iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and other gadgets with Android OS. In the remaining two days, the programme is open to all members of the webpage.

"We are extremely excited to be partnering with Volkswagen to sell the all-new Jetta,"
said Carl Sparks, President, Gilt Groupe. "Every day we offer insider access to a variety of exclusive products, and this sale allows us to extend that with the opportunity to buy a sophisticated and stylish car at an insider price."

Usually priced at $15,995, the models to be sold online will be offered in a "Gilt Gold" wrap to set them apart from the rest of the Jettas on US streets. All proceeds, which are expected to go around $18,000, will be donated to the charity Dress for Success, the company said in a statement.

"Partnering with Gilt was a natural fit for Volkswagen as both brands have customers who value style, sophistication, and quality products at an attainable price," said Tim Ellis, Vice President of Marketing, Volkswagen of America, Inc. "By creating a special price of $5,995 for each Jetta on Gilt, Volkswagen has taken our tagline, 'Great for the Price of Good' to a new level that will certainly create excitement and attention."
