2011 Scion tC in Augmented Reality Game

While getting ready for the market launch on October 1, the 2011 Scion tC can be virtually driven thanks to an interactive augmented reality (AR) game. Enthusiasts can explore the new tC from the driver’s seat by following this link. The game is part of a larger cross-media teaser campaign, following the 'Unlock the tC Road Trip.'

With prints, billboards and a 3D trailer before "Resident Evil: Afterlife," Scion invites viewers to enter the machine and find full 2011 tC specs, pricing, video and images. New features will be unlocked throughout the campaign, such as alternate game endings, bonus scenes and a spot to 'Build Your tC.'

Game Features:

  • Scoring: The user's score is calculated based upon time. If the user has connected using Facebook Connect, they can save their scores to Facebook.
  • Leaderboard: Using Facebook Connect, the user can compare their score to their friends scores. The all-time high scores will be displayed on the site.
  • Achievements: If the user reaches a certain time, you can unlock different customized tCs.

The 2011 Scion tC is powered by a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine with dual VVT-i powerplant that generates 180 horsepower. This means the new model boosts some 19 horsepower more, while torque is increased by 11 lb-ft. Other performance enhancements include a new intake manifold design and a sport-tuned exhaust system.

The engine is coupled to an all-new transmission lineup, as it follows: a six-speed manual unit plus a six-speed automatic. The refined sports coupe has an MSRP of $18,275 when equipped with a manual transmission, and $19,275 when equipped with an automatic transmission.
