Lexus has released the UK market pricing for the 2011 model year IS-F performance saloon.

As we previously reported, the 2011 MY model received an Euro V-compliant engine. The emissions standard upgrade doesn’t mean that the vehicle’s 5.0 liter powerplant has lost its grunt. The unit still delivers 423 hp and works with the eight-speed Sport Direct Shift (SPDS) automatic transmission to blast the car from standstill to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 168 mph (270 km/h). Lexus said that the CO2 emissions and fuel consumption figures of the unit have also remained unchanged.

Lexus decided to improve the vehicle’s handling and comfort, fitting it with a limited slip differential and with new front & rear coil springs and shock absorbers. In addition to that, the setup of the rear suspension has been modified in order to offer a higher level of stability under higher loads when accelerating, braking and cornering.

Other changes for the 2011 MY also include the addition of LED daytime running lights for the high intensity discharge (HID) headlights, a new instrument cluster and fresh carbon fiber-style trimming.

The 2011 Lexus IS-F is already available, retailing for a starting price of 57,105 pounds sterling ($87,950 or EUR68,446 at the current exchange rate).

Change for change's sake is rarely worthwhile, particularly when you are dealing with such a well-defined concept as Lexus's ultra-high performance IS F sports saloon. So it is that the new 2011 IS F differs from its predecessor in only a few well-thought-out details,” stated the press release.
