For 2011, Kawasaki’s middleweight naked sportbike range will not only receive a new model in the line-up, the newly introduced Z750R, but the Z750 will also come with new color schemes aimed at refreshing the successful series.

Specifically, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer recently announced the 2011 Z750 will be available in the following colours: Ebony, Pearl Alpine White and Lime Green / Flat Ebony. This means the previous Candy Lime Green and Atomic Silver colors will no longer be available.

As disappointing as it may be to some, these are the only changes made to the Z series, as the manufacturer considered the bike is still offering the best in street riding. So suspension settings and tires remain the same for 2011, as do the engine and chassis.

To refresh your memory a bit, considering that the current generation of the model has remained unchanged since it was launched in 2007, the Z750 is powered by the same 748cc engine capable of developing 106 hp @10,500 rpm and 77 Nm of torque at 9,300 rpm, while reaching a top speed of 143 mph (230 km/h).

As for the newly developed ‘R’ version, the 2011 Z750R, due to have its global premiere at the Intermot exhibition in Cologne next month and then displayed at EICMA 2010 in Milan this November, comes with the same engine as the one fitted on the Z750 model.

However, the Z750 R boasts new brakes and exhaust system, improved chassis with fully adjustable front forks, revised rear shock on a new aluminium swing arm, radial front brakes with braded lines and ABS as an option. Ninja-style 6-spoke front wheel with reinforced rim, Dunlop 210 tires and Kawasaki Akrapovic slip-on silencer are also included.
