2011 Hyundai Equus More Details Released

South Korean manufacturer Hyundai released today additional details for the US-spec Equus, a model which promises to come with a whole range of Hyundai-firsts for US customers. Unfortunately, there's no price tag yet to go with all the info you will read about below, but the car is expected to be anywhere in between $50,000 and $60,000.

The Equus will arrive States side with an offering of only one engine, a 4.6l DOHC Tau V8 unit which develops 385 horsepower. The engine will be controlled via a six-speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic, which allows the car to reach 60 mph in 6.4 seconds.

The aforementioned Hyundai-firsts the carmaker will thrown into the Equus include the Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system the electronic parking brake, smart cruise control, the collision warning sensor.

Infotainment and comfort is being offered via a wide range of high-tech gadgets, like heated and cooled front seats, heated steering wheel, memory system, auto vehicle hold, navigation system, iPod connection, dual fully automatic temperature control, sunroof, 608-watt Lexicon 7.1 Discrete surround-sound audio system with 17 speakers, driver-seat massage, XM Satellite Radio & NavTraffic and rear-seat entertainment system.

The safety of the occupants is being enforced by the deployment of nine airbags, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) and Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFLS) with auto-leveling.

The car will be offered in the US in four exterior colors (White Satin Pearl, Black Noir Pearl, Granite Gray and Platinum Metallic) and three interior themes (Cashmere with genuine Birch Burl wood, Jet Black with genuine walnut wood and Saddle with genuine walnut wood).
