Ford has just unveiled its all-new Territory, a model that will only be available on the Australian market. Despite sharing some components, like the doors, mirrors, lift-gate and assorted trim with the outgoing model, a number of key differences can be seen between the two.

"We worked hard to ensure the new Territory was an evolution of the original model and, through the use of Ford's distinct design DNA, also gave a hint of the future," Svensson said. To achieve this we applied Ford's unique style philosophy: kinetic design.Kinetic design comprises several specific elements, all of which are present in the new Territory. They are confident stance, dynamic lines, expressive form language, taut surfacing, bold graphics and great detailing,” stated Chris Svensson, Design Director for Ford Asia Pacific and Africa.

Although the SUV was designed for the Australian market, it features some design elements that could be seen on the next generations Escape and Kuga, due to arrive in the later part of this year.

The Territory will be available in three trim levels when it arrives at Australian dealers, namely TX, TS and Titanium, and while there's little information available about what will power those models, thanks to the TDCi badges in one of the photos we do know that a diesel mill will find its way under the hood.

The Territory’s car-like cabin comes in the same five or seven-seater configuration that is well adapted to the needs of a typical Australian family. A new Instrument Panel (IP) features an eight-inch touch screen monitor for the first time.

Pricing for the 2011 Ford Territory will be announced as the April market launch date approaches.
