2011 Chrysler Town & Country Unveiled

American manufacturer Chrysler today revealed its new 2011 Chrysler Town & Country minivan that has been extensively revised in exterior and interior styling, powertrain and safety features. Built in Canada, the 2011 Chrysler Town & Country is set to arrive in dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2010.

Inside, the 201 model includes a new instrument panel and instrument cluster, new Chrysler Brand steering wheel with integrated controls, upgraded cloth and leather seating materials, new "soft touch" door trim and new heating and cooling control system.

Performance wise, the new 2011 Chrysler Town & Country is powered by the new Pentastar V6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, producing 283 horsepower and 353 Nm of torque while delivering an estimated EPA fuel economy rating of 17 mpg (13.8 l/100km) City and 25 mpg (9.4 l/100km) Highway.

“Improvements to the driving dynamics, a new fuel economizer mode that helps maximize fuel economy and reductions in noise, vibration and harshness gives drivers a spirited driving experience that doesn't hurt the wallet,” Chrysler brags in a statement.

Tech-savvy features include a dual DVD system that can play different media at the same time, SIRIUS Backseat TV which offers three channels of children's programming; and FLO TV featuring 20 channels of live programming; voice command functions for radio, iPod/mp3 players, phone, navigation and information.

Every 2011 Chrysler Town & Country minivan comes standard with SafetyTec, a package of 40 standard safety and technology features, including Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path Detection, which are only available on Chrysler Group minivans.

Improvements to the Stow 'n Go seating and storage system feature new, more comfortable seats and a one-touch fold down feature for easier access to the third row, and a new 'super' center console.
