2010 Roush Mustang Stage 3, 540RH Released [New Gallery]

American builder Roush announced today the release of two new in-house bred Mustangs, in the form of the famous Stage 3 and the 540RH. The special Stage 3 Mustang will be built in a limited edition of 103 units and will be available for a MSRP of $59,945, while the 540RH starts at  $46,145 (540RH), a price which includes the current Ford incentives.

The ROUSH Stage 3 Mustang has traditionally been among the halo vehicles of our lineup and I’m really proud that it sits atop the pecking order once again,” Jack Roush, company's head said in a release. “This new iteration of the Stage 3 represents our highest horsepower and most sophisticated ROUSH Mustang yet, and is sure to resonate among our fans.”

Stage 3, as is the 540RH, comes equipped with Ford's 4.6l engine, tweaked by Roush and fitted with forged aluminum pistons with an increased dish, forged steel H-Beam connecting rods and a forged steel crankshaft. The unit now has a total output of 540 hp.

The Stage 3 distinguishes itself by the use of Roush built resonator exhaust, four-piston front brakes with 14-inch rotors, painted rear calipers and new upper billet grille.

Mustang 540RH, aka Hammer, comes with a new suspension package which includes front and rear springs, front and rear stabilizer bars and jounce bumper.

"The new ROUSH 540RH is really intended to be a ‘sleeper’ car,” Roush added. “It will be purposely built with minimal content as it was designed for the buyer who wanted the ROUSH horsepower but with a blank canvas that can be customized into their own personal one-of-a-kind ride.

Both of the two new Mustangs will be equipped with the anti-wheel hop kit and are covered by a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. The special editions will be equipped with the manual transmission only. Production is scheduled to begin by the end of this month, and will be available for purchase in October.
