2010 Paris Auto Show: Maserati MC Stradale

The Italians at Maserati are currently showcasing the much anticipated MC Stradale model in their booth at the 2010 Paris Auto Show. They have today released official specs of their fastest, lightest and most powerful model, as well as a first image of its interior.

Moreover, the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale is the first Maserati in history to have a dedicated Race mode alongside the upgraded Auto and Sport modes in its simplified dashboard layout.

The car also becomes the first two-seat Maserati since the MC12. New Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, custom-developed Pirelli tires, a unique suspension layout and rigid, light-weight, carbon-fibre race seats are among the highlights.

The Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale uses a 4.7-litre V8 plant (same as the GranTurismo S) but this time output level is 450 HP (330 kW) and 530 Nm of torque. The car's weight has been reduced to 1770 Kg, offering a 48:52 weight distribution, and when an upgraded MC Race Shift electro-actuated transaxle gearbox has been added to offer improved performance figures.

The Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale needs 4.6 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph), while being capable of achieving a top speed of over 300 km/h (186 mph).

“The push for the GranTurismo MC Stradale came from existing Maserati customers who wanted a road-legal super sports car that looked and felt like the GT4 and Trofeo race cars. The GranTurismo MC Stradale also provides the latest step in the well-trodden path between Maserati’s racing programs and its production road cars and, often, back again,” a company statement reads.

The new Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale is scheduled to go on sale in February 2011 in all major markets, except for the US, Canada and Korea.
