2010 Nissan 370Z Roadster Makes UK Debut

Japanese manufacturer Nissan took its latest interpretation of a sportscar, the 370Z, to the Goodwood Revival festival the past weekend, thus presenting for the first time to the British public the new Z.

The car will not be available, however, until March 2010 and prices have not even been yet announced for the UK. Yet, the manufacturer hopes it will not face the same "economic conditions" which made them lower the sales forecast from 30,000 units to only 10,000 for the rest of the world.

"The economic conditions we are facing today hit this kind of car much harder than those in other segments," Thomas Ebeling, Nissan Europe product strategy and planning manager said when the 370Z was launched.

The Roadster will come to the Island equipped with the fourth-generation VQ series 3.7-liter V6 engine, which develops 332 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 270 lb.-ft of torque at 5,200 rpm. The engine will be paired with an electronically-controlled 7-speed automatic transmission or a close-ratio 6-speed manual.

As for the price for the new roadster, even if not available in British pounds, those Z-lovers, as Nissan calls them can have a pretty good idea by knowing the prices for which the Z is sold in the US.

There, four models will be offered, with prices set at $36,970 (6MT version), $38,270 (7AT), $40,520 (Touring 6MT) and $41,820 (Touring 7AT model). Two additional packages are being offered in the US, namely the Sport Package and the Navigation Package.
