2010 M-Klasse For India Launched

German carmaker Mercedes Benz launched this week in India the 2010 model year M-Klasse in two special variants for the local market: the Sports Edition and the Luxury Edition. According to Indian Express, the two models are priced at Rs. 55 Lakhs and Rs. 60.9 lakhs ex-showroom, respectively.

The SUV, the first one in its class to feature Mercedes' Pre-safe system,comes equipped with seven airbags, belt tensioners, belt-force limiters and crash-responsive Neck-Pro head restraints.

The Sports Edition comes with chromed rectangular exhaust tailpipes, chrome trim strip in the rub strips, aluminum look roof rails and 19-inch twin-spoke light-alloy wheels. On the interior, it features rear-seat entertainment system, sports pedals in brushed stainless steel with rubber studs
and leather steering wheel.

The Luxury Edition features basically the same exterior styling as its sibling, while adding Harman Kardon surround sound system, Wood/leather multifunction steering wheel and Thermotronic 3-zone automatic climate control.

in India, the M-Klasse is being offered as ML 350 4MATIC, ML 500 4MATIC and ML 63 AMG 4MATIC (petrol) and ML 280 CDI 4MATIC, ML 320 CDI 4MATIC and ML 420 CDI 4MATIC (diesel), powered by a choice of either a 6 cylinder engine or two V8 engines.

As standard, M-Klasse pairs the units to the 7-speed automatic transmission with DIRECT SELECT 7G-TRONIC with steering-wheel gearshift buttons.
