2010 Legends Ride Details Revealed

The upcoming Sturgis Rally will kick off this summer with the third annual Legends Ride, scheduled to start in Deadwood, August 9, heading to the Legendary Buffalo Chip in Sturgis through the Black Hills of South Dakota. The ride also has a charity purpose, benefiting the Children's Home of the Black Hills and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame. Attendants will have to pay $150 each to join the ride.

So far, there have been some celebrities that confirmed their participation at the Legends Ride, including actor Lorenzo Lamas, reality television star Rupert Boneham and comedian Pee-wee Herman (Paul Reubens).

"The past couple years have proved that the Legends Ride is the premier charity and celebrity event in motorcycling. We are proud to be part of this worthy cause, and it's truly amazing to see Rally-goers come forward to be part of this great ride,"
said George Milos, Deadwood Chamber of Commerce director. "And now that we've established the Ride as a must-do during the Rally, we are only going to see more support."

At the end of this year’s Legends Ride, participants will enjoy concerts by famous rockers, including Disturbed, Buckcherry and legends ZZ Top. A ticket to the concert is included in the registration.

Also in 2010, the Legend's Ride reception at the Legendary Buffalo Chip will be highlighted by a special live auction featuring "Method," a one-off custom motorcycle built by Discovery Channel bike builder Michael Prugh and the students of Western Dakota Technical Institute.

Another highlight of this year's Sturgis Rally Week is Michael Lichter's 10th Annual Motorcycles as Art Exhibit. The exhibition will be showcasing the works of the most influential master builders and artists in motorcycling.
