2010 Geneva Auto Show: The Experience

Although the manufacturers lineup for the 2010 Geneva Auto Show is pretty much known, it is nearly impossible for anyone to accurately describe what visitors to this 80th edition will experience. Anyone except for the organizers of the event, who released today a brief sum-up of what the 2010 show is all about.

One of the biggest auto events in Europe, Geneva will witness a flood of some 10,000 media representatives from all over the world, all cramming to get a first glimpse of the 100 world and european premiers, including 16 electric or alternatively powered vehicles premieres.

Five exhibitors, including Bufori Motor Car Company and Hispano-Suiza, will make their first entrance at the show, while six of the marques exhibiting are celebrating their 80th entry in the event: Bentley, Citroen, Fiat, Lancia, Peugeot, and Renault. In all, Geneva will have 250 exhibitors from 30 countries representing 700 marques.

On the first day alone, manufacturers will hold no less than 65 press conferences, all filmed in “broadcast” quality and downloadable from the show's official website.

“250 exhibitors from 30 countries representing 700 marques will be there. They will completely cover the 78,000 square metres of exhibition space available and there are still requests for more space,” Luc Argand, president of the Geneva International Motor Show said in a release.

"We sincerely thank the constructors Bentley, Citroen, Fiat, Lancia, Peugeot, and Renault for their loyalty.”

autoevolution will be attending the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
