Following the first teaser of the Porsche Cayenne, released on the Porsche website soon after the unveiling of the 911 GT3 R, a new image, showing the new Cayenne in full and without any Photoshop magic hiding it surfaced on the German carmaker's European configurator.
Now, we reckon this was by mistake because, after Motor Authority first flagged it, Porsche changed the front page of the respective configurator into showing the current generation. On the other hand, it may well have been an intentional mistake, or just a Photoshopped image, as some hint (even if it is Photoshopped, expect the Cayenne to look pretty much like this one).
Either way, here is the new Cayenne. Between rumors the SUV will be unveiled in the following days and with the overall looks of the car already known, we think it's a bit redundant keeping the car under wraps but, then again, what do we know.
Until a more up-close-and-personal set of images will leak or be released more all less officially, all we have to do is go with what we already know.
The new Cayenne, scheduled to make its first public appearance at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, will be less off-roader, after Porsche found some 90 percent of Cayenne customers never used some of the off-road features of the car anyway. The 2011 model year will now come with a little less weight around the waist, now being some 250-300 kilograms (550-660 pounds) lighter.
autoevolution will be attending the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
