The Bugatti Veyron La Finale we saw earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show 2015 was the Veyron's last heartbeat in the car industry. But this supercar will never become extinct.
Bugatti made 450 Veyrons since 2006, namely 300 coupés and 150 roadsters.

The last of them was called La Finale and unveiled last March in Geneva, with plenty of featured inspired by the first-ever Veyron, which happens to be heading for auction.

According to RM Sotheby's, the event will take place on Thursday, August 13, in Monterey, with the car expected to fetch anywhere between $1,800,000 - $2,400,000, although we incline to think the amount will go higher than the initially projected figure. After all, whoever buys it will own a big chunk of automotive history.

Although most petrolheads know this by heart, we feel obliged to mention one more time the car's mind-blowing specs. Power comes from an 8.0-liter W16 engine (in essence two "married" V8 powerplants) producing 1,001 horsepower courtesy of four turbochargers.

The car was so fast that during high-speed testing, bird strikes shattered the aluminum grille, damaging several components behind it. Therefore, engineers had to redesign the grille in titanium to withstand any impact with a small animal. After all, the Veyron can secure a top speed of 253 mph (378 km/h), but remember, this is a 10-year old car.

The first production Veyron, chassis number 001, was delivered new exactly how you see it today: finished in two-tone Red and Black with a beige interior and the exquisite sports seats.

RM Sotheby's are governing the auction event, and we're being told the model received a full service by Bugatti of Beverly Hills where it was fitted with a set of new tires.

Also, it has only 800 miles (1,287 km) on the odometer, so this piece of history is, ironically, almost brand new.
