Nowadays, a 4,000 horsepower race that manages to gather this much muscle from just two street cars happens more often than one might expect. And while most such battles take place at the drag strip for obvious reasons, the one that brought us here took place on the street.
We're talking about a battle involving a Nissan GT-R and a Dodge Viper, with the number mentioned in the intro being evenly distributed between the Japanese and the American toy. However, before we move any further, please keep in mind not to use such shenanigans as an example and head over to the track when those battle urges happen to kick in.

Truth be told, the racing realm has been blessed with more four-digit GT-Rs than Vipers of the sort. Nevertheless, the V10 animal we have here has been massaged by Calvo Motorsports, a crew that's famous for delivering this type of performance animals (here's a... General Lee Viper as an example). And yes, the driver still works those three pedals.

This is a Viper GTS with an ACR rear wing, while its 8.4-liter heart now works with a pair of 76mm turbos. In fact, the pair of turbos used to serve the V10, since a turbo seal decided to rage-quit in the middle of this racing session, causing serious issues - this is why the pair of 2,000 hp monsters only got to battle once. However, it looks like the list of spectators included a police car, albeit with this having taken a seat in the back, as you'll notice in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page.

PS: If you happen to be in a rush and wish to skip straight to the sprinting battle described above, you should know this awaits you at the 3:10 point of the clip.
