Chevrolet Impala was crowned the king of the automotive castle during the '60s. After becoming the best-selling car in the United States early in the decade, the Impala conquered the domestic market with a fantastic performance in 1965.
Impala became the first car in the United States to sell more than one million units in one year. The next model years brought additional refinements, and while sales went down slightly, they remained strong.

The Impala SS became an even more important catalyst of yearly sales, but the regular Impala also continued to sell strong.

A 1969 Chevrolet Impala landed on eBay earlier this week with one ambitious goal in mind: to receive a complete restoration that would eventually allow for a glorious return to the road.

Classic Cars of SC didn't share many specifics on eBay, but the photos in the listing suggest the car has been sitting for years in a junkyard. A car spending such a long time in a junkyard typically comes with missing parts, as they end up serving as a donor for other projects. However, this might not be the case with this Impala, as it looks fairly complete, albeit not original. The body panels likely come from multiple Impalas, with the owners explaining on eBay that the car needs urgent fixes on the roof.

The rust has already invaded the Impala, and it's not a surprise. A long tenure in a junkyard typically leads to massive undercarriage problems, but it's unclear if the floors are already wrecked. However, the garage trying to find a new owner claims the car also needs a new top and some interior work.

It's also unclear what you'll find under the hood. The seller says the vehicle comes with a "V8", but no specifics are available. However, the listing summary indicates that the car sports a 350 unit paired with an automatic transmission, though it's impossible to tell if its condition is good without additional information. You should order a third-party inspection if you believe this car is worth a second chance, especially because the selling price suggests you'll get more than you see in the pics.

The owners are willing to let the car go for $7,500, which is a fairly optimistic expectation for a junkyard survivor. However, the lack of information could make many people walk away, especially if they're far from where the Impala is located and they can't inspect everything in person.

If you want to see what this 2-door Impala is all about, you must travel to Gray Court, South Carolina. You'll need a trailer to take it home, as it's safe to assume the engine no longer starts. I expect the car to roll freely.
