It’s painted in white and it flaunts black decals on the front fender and doors. The grille says RS and the headlights are testament to that. However, Wilwood disc brakes with red calipers and Boze polished wheels wrapped in Nitto NT555 ultra-high performance rubber should make you wonder about what lurks under the hood of this ‘Maro.
As the headline implies, we’re dealing with an LS3 small-block V8 with somewhere between 700 to 800 horsepower (710 to 811 PS) on tap. The 6.2-liter blunderbuss is complemented by two turbochargers, remote filters, Holley Sniper EFI induction, and a few more goodies such as Hot Rod Dynamics rail covers and custom headers.

Under the custom chassis of this F-body Camaro, you’ll find a Strang 9.0-inch rear axle and a posi-traction differential with 3.90 gears in addition to RideTech air ride suspension on all four corners. Power rack-and-pinion steering, a beefier driveshaft, and a six-speed manual transmission from Tremec are three other strong points of this restomod.

The interior is a blend of plushness and pro-touring aesthetics thanks to combinations such as bucket seats with French-stitched leather upholstery and houndstooth inserts. Dakota Digital telemetry, Vintage Air conditioning, modern audio, and a billet shifter are featured, along with Nu Relics power windows and a Billet Specialties steering wheel. American Autowire wiring is utilized throughout the Camaro.

Like all restomods with pro-touring credentials and so many more upgrades in between, the car before your eyes doesn’t come cheap. RK Motors Charlotte wants $199,900 for it, a lot more than what you would pony up for a ZL1 with the 1LE package for the 2020 model year. Even when compared to an original from 1969, it’s top dollar.

This year’s average in terms of auction results is $88,618 and the ‘Maro in “excellent condition” is valued at more than $50,000 depending on specification and originality. The most expensive ‘69er auctioned so far in 2020 is a ZL1 COPO, chassis 124379N642876 to be more precise. It sold for $1,094,500 at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale, the only ZL1 ordered with an NC8 chambered exhaust.
