1963 witnessed the debut of the C2 Corvette, packing a complete redesign of the body and the chassis. Chevrolet also rolled out a one-year-only coupe design that has since become extremely desirable in the collector's world.
The brand-new coupe, which also debuted in 1963, came with a split window design, with Chevrolet dropping this choice only a year later.

Despite the coupe being a new member of the Corvette lineup, its sales were impressive. Chevrolet sold 21,513 Vettes in 1963, and nearly half rolled off the assembly lines with a coupe body style. Approximately 10,900 units used the convertible design.

The 1963 Corvette coupe that landed on eBay not long ago looks like a collector's dream, checking all the boxes for an iconic car whose place is in a heated garage.

Let me start with the most important tidbits and continue with the rest of the good news for people interested in a restoration project.

First, this intriguing Corvette sports the split window design that people typically drool over. Second, it comes with a fuel-injected engine, albeit it no longer starts and runs. The Corvette has been sitting for years in storage, with eBay seller whiteviper2004 claiming it "has not been on the road or out in daylight in many years." However, it still packs the numbers matching 327 V8 with 360 horsepower.

I'm not sure my numbers are correct, but Chevrolet produced 2,610 Vettes fitted with the fuel-injected mill.

Third, the Corvette also emerged from storage with a rare color combination. It's painted in Sebring silver and uses a tan leather interior. The owner says only 1,114 Corvettes left the factory with tan leather seats, but I couldn't confirm the claims.

The Corvette comes with solid metal, and the glass is in good shape. Despite the long tenure in storage, it remains in good condition in every department.

Restoring this Corvette won't be an easy thing, though. Only a professional restorer or a connoisseur should attempt to bring this Vette back to factory specifications, as a split-window coupe with fuel injection isn't something you see daily.

The selling price makes sense, though I'm certain this is the point where most people will walk away. The seller posted the Corvette on eBay as part of an auction, with today's top offer exceeding $75,000. However, they also configured a reserve, meaning the WWW must send higher offers before unlocking it. The Buy It Now is surprising, as the owner allows interested buyers to buy the car without a fight by paying $120,000. They claim it's a fair expectation, as a perfectly restored Corvette with this configuration and rare goodies could cost over $250,000.

You can find the car in Richmond, Kentucky.
