People in the custom car industry have a real talent for seeing not what a vehicle is, but what it can be if properly handled. This is partially why owners of beat down machines have no trouble in selling their possessions for big bucks, and this is also why we eventually end up with incredible builds like the pickup truck in the gallery below.
As most of the F-100 pickup trucks of its generation, this one too was once in such a poor condition most of us would have overlooked it easily. But that's not what one custom builder who saw its potential did, one who was lucky enough so that, unlike what is happening these days though, didn’t have to pay a fortune for it.

Supposedly, the price of the truck - we’re sorry to say we have no images of it in its original condition - was just $500. Very cheap, indeed, but that was only the starting point of a 15-years long build that resulted in this incredible pickup here.

We’re not being told how many other thousands of dollars went into making this truck what it is today, but it was probably many times that original $500. Every second of work and every dollar spent on it were worth it, though.

Wrapped in seemingly flawless, carefully crafted metal body painted red and black, the truck sits close to the road on 18 and 20-inch wheels. It hides under the hood a 4.6-liter InTech V8 engine, tied to a 4-speed automatic transmission, and comes with an equally red interior wrapped in leather and a see-through bed.

The whole package was once awarded a series of distinctions at various auto shows, including the top prize during one of the F-100 Supernationals events in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. With all that pedigree behind it the truck is for sale (and has been for almost a year now) for $159,900.
