SUZUKI GSR600 (2005-2006) Specs, Performance & Photos

The GSR600 was a 599cc motorcycle manufactured by Suzuki in 2006 and introduced as a streetfighter-styled middleweight street bike powered by the GSX-R600 engine that was re-tuned for mid-range power and higher torque.

So, in 2006, Suzuki launched the GSR600, a new breed of motorcycle that offered unrivaled performance, handling, technology, style, and comfort in an exciting middleweight streetfighter package.

The race-proven GSX-R-derived powerplant featured a Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) fuel injection system that offered crisp throttle response, which sent fuel to the cylinders that were coated with Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM) for better heat transfer and reduced weight and size.

The 2006 Suzuki GSR600 took its thrust from the 599cc four-stroke four-cylinder liquid-cooled race-proven engine that delivered an output power of 90 hp at 12,000 rpm and 65 Nm (48 lb-ft) of torque available at 9,600 rpm.

The power produced by the engine, combined with a dry weight of 183 kg (403 lbs) and a six-speed manual transmission, resulted in a top speed of 214 kph (133 mph). From top speed to a complete halt, the bike was stopped by two 320 mm discs squeezed by a couple of four-piston calipers on the front wheel and a 240 mm disc with a single-piston caliper on the rear wheel that acted as braking performance.
