SUZUKI GSR600 (2006-2007) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2007, Suzuki launched the GSR600, a motorcycle that offered unrivaled performance, handling, technology, style, and comfort in an exciting middleweight streetfighter package that proved to be a real head-turning in the looks department and jaw-dropping in performance.

The GSR600 was a 599cc motorcycle manufactured by Suzuki in 2006 and introduced as a streetfighter-styled middleweight street bike that featured the GSX-R600 engine, re-tuned for mid-range power and higher torque.

The GSX-R-derived engine was fitted with a Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) fuel injection system that offered crisp throttle response, and the cylinders were coated with Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM) for better heat transfer and reduced weight and size.

The 2007 Suzuki GSR600 packed a 599cc four-stroke four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that delivered a power output of 90 hp with a peak at 12,000 rpm and 65 Nm (48 lb-ft) of torque at 9,600 rpm.

All the power produced by the engine was sent to the rear wheel through a six-speed manual transmission, which resulted in a top speed of 214 kph (133 mph).

For suspension, the naked street bike packed a 43 mm fully adjustable telescopic fork on the front and a seven-way spring preload adjustable monoshock on the rear, while the braking performance was handled by two 320 mm discs with four-piston calipers on the front and a 240 mm disc with a single-piston caliper on the rear.
