For those who fell in love with the amazing capabilities of the DR-Z400E and sigh because they're limited to the off-road riding, here's the best news for the 2005 season. Suzuki is also preparing a street-legal model based on this bike, under the name of DR-Z400S. You get all the brawn of the 398 cc single plus the adjustable suspensions and the entire grit the quick throttle response provides, but you can benefit from them on the everyday roads, as well.

The knobbies have been replaced by true dual-sport tires with decent grip on asphalt and being still usable on trails and gravel surfaces. The 2005 MY DR-Z400S thus becomes a mighty all-rounder commuter which is definitely not afraid to switch from the urban environment to the tough wilderness.
