KAWASAKI VN900 Custom (2012-2013) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Kawasaki VN900 was a mid-sized cruiser motorcycle that debuted in 2006. The bike followed the same recipe as Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha by placing a smaller engine into a slightly larger chassis.

The bike was a boulevard-style cruiser similar in design to the Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe or the Fat Boy. It was available in Classic, Custom, and Touring versions., packing the same engine and frame but with several different or additional accessories.

In 2012, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer launched the Kawasaki VN900 Custom, a cruiser motorcycle in its eighth year of production that only featured color alterations.

It packed standard features, such as a small round headlight, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a one-piece dual seat, a dual slash-cut exhaust system with two silencers mounted on the right side, and cast aluminum wheels.

Compared to the Classic version, the Custom model was more aggressive and featured modifications, such as a larger 21-inch wheel on the front and a solid aluminum wheel on the rear, different fenders, forward-mounted footpegs instead of floorboards, and a drag-styled handlebar.

In the performance department, the 2012 Kawasaki VN900 Custom packed the same 903cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine as the Classic model, delivering 50 hp with maximum strength at 5,700 rpm and 79 Nm (58 lb-ft) torque at 3,700 rpm.
