KAWASAKI VN900 Classic Special Edition (2012-2013) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2012, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer launched the Kawasaki VN900 Classic Special Edition, a cruiser motorcycle with unique styling and the same specifications as the standard model.

The special edition machine retained all the nifty features of the base model but offered an eye-candy custom graphic scheme that combined matte black with chromed elements, enhanced by a white racing stripe and a red or green pinstripe.

The 2012 special edition motorcycle was fitted with standard features, such as a round headlight up front, a wide handlebar, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a two-piece dual seat, large fenders, a dual slash-cut chromed exhaust system, and wire-spoke wheels with fat tires.

In the performance department, the 2012 Kawasaki VN900 Classic Special Edition packed the same 903cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine as the standard model, delivering 50 hp with maximum strength at 5,700 rpm and 79 Nm (58 lb-ft) torque at 3,700 rpm.

The bike was built around a double cradle steel frame with a 41 mm seven-way preload-adjustable telescopic fork on the front and a uni-trak shock absorber on the rear, offering optimum suspension performance.

As for the braking power, the bike relied on a 300 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the front wheel and a 270 mm disc coupled to a two-piston caliper on the rear wheel, providing optimum stopping power.
