The Kawasaki Concours 14 was a sport-touring motorcycle first introduced in 2007 as a replacement for the GTR1000. The bike was also known as the GTR1400 or ZG1400 in some markets and was based on the ZX-14 platform.

In 2012, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer launched the Kawasaki Concours 14 (1400GTR) ABS, a sport touring machine packed with a safety feature in the form of an Anti-Lock Braking System.

In addition, the models manufactured between 2012 and 2014 received two minor technical and visual modifications, such as slightly modified front rotors for a smaller carrier to resist warping and black-finished wheels instead of silver. In 2014, the pressure sensors were altered, making battery replacement impractical.

The 2012 model was fitted with standard features, such as full fairing with an electrically adjustable windscreen, a one-piece dual seat, a small luggage rack with integrated passenger grab rails, side-mounted panniers, and 10-spoke lightweight wheels.

Underneath its full fairing, the 2012 Kawasaki Concours 14 (1400GTR) ABS had installed a 1,352cc four-stroke four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine fed by an electronically controlled fuel injection system, boasting 156 hp at 8,800 rpm and 140 Nm (103 lb-ft) torque at 6,200 rpm.

The bike's power was transferred to a six-speed manual transmission with a wet multi-plate clutch and sent to the rear wheel through a low-maintenance tetra-lever final shaft drive, pushing the motorcycle to 254 kph (158 mph).
