DUCATI Sport 1000S (2009) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Ducati Sport 1000S was a retro-styled motorcycle based on the standard Sport 1000 model. The S version debuted in 2007 and was manufactured for only three years until 2009. Compared to the base model, the S version was in a different shape with several modifications.

In 2009, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati Sport 1000S, a motorcycle in its final year of production that retained its previous model specifications but with a different color scheme. Previous models were available in a red with a white stripe livery, while the 2009 model came in a black with a white stripe color scheme.

In the visual department, compared to the base model, the S version packed an upper fairing with a central round headlight and a small windscreen, a dual exhaust system with a muffler on each side, dual side-mounted rear shock absorbers, and the same wire-spoke wheels.

In the power department, the 2009 Ducati Sport 1000S packed the same 992cc four-stroke V-twin air-cooled engine as the standard model, with a fuel injection system in charge, delivering 92 hp at 8,000 rpm and 91 Nm (67 lb-ft) torque at 6,000 rpm.

In the braking department, the bike used the same system as its siblings, such as two 320 mm discs with four-piston calipers on the front wheel and a 245 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the rear wheel.
