In 2010, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer released the Ducati Multistrada 1200 as a successor to the Ducati 1100 models. The bike was powered by a retuned version of the engine used on the Ducati 1198 version.

In 2011, alongside the standard and S versions, the maker launched the Ducati Multistrada 1200S , a machine with additional touring-oriented accessories that improved long-distance traveling.

The 2011 Ducati Multistrada 1200S was fitted with standard features, such as a front fairing with dual headlights and a tall windscreen, heated grips, a two-piece dual seat with a passenger grab handle, side-mounted panniers, a center stand, and ten-spoke alloy wheels.

The bike's suspension comprised a fully adjustable upside-down Marzocchi fork on the front and a fully adjustable Sachs shock absorber with progressive linkage on the rear, offering more ground clearance than the base model.

As for the stopping power, the bike packed two 320 mm discs with four-piston Brembo calipers on the front wheel and a 245 mm disc with a two-piston caliper on the rear wheel, working in tandem with an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS).

The 2011 Ducati Multistrada 1200S was brought to life by a 1,198cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine managed by a fuel injection system, boasting 150 hp at 9,250 rpm and 119 Nm (88 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.

In 2023 (at the time of Writing), the 2011 Ducati Multistrada 1200S was for sale with a price ranging between $7,000 and $8,000, depending on its condition.
