In 2016, the Italian motorcycle maker released the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak, a special edition machine celebrating the victory at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race in Colorado, USA.

The Pikes Peak model was available in a Pikes Peak livery with a Ducati Red steel Trellis frame and black wheels with red trim. It also provides four riding modes, Sport, Touring, Urban, and Enduro, with different engine settings for any road conditions.

In addition to the standard model, the special edition machine was fitted with race-derived Ohlins suspensions, a carbon fiber Termignoni exhaust, a muffler, and a small carbon fiber screen.

It also benefited from the latest technologies featured by the standard model, along with several carbon fiber elements, such as a front mudguard, a fuel tank cover, and lateral front partitions. In addition, it featured red seat stitching that enhanced its overall versatility.

The bike's handling was achieved by a 48 mm fully adjustable upside-down TiN-coated Ohlins fork on the front and a fully adjustable Ohlins shock absorber on the rear, offering excellent handling capabilities.

The braking system was carried from the standard model, with two 330 mm discs and four-piston Brembo calipers on the front and a 265 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the rear.

As for the power figures, the 2016 Ducati Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak had its muscles from a 1,198cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 160 hp at 9,500 rpm and 136 Nm (100 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.
