The Ducati Multistrada 1200 was a motorcycle made by Ducati since 2010, powered by a retuned version of the engine used in the Ductai 1198 superbike. It was part of the Multistrada family that comprised various models with different engine displacements and similar appearances.

In 2014, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati Multistrada 1200, the base model for the 1200S and 1200S Touring versions. The 1200 model won the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race in 2010, 2011, and 2012.

The 2014 machine packed the second-generation Testastretta engine, a Bosch ABS braking system, and Ducati Traction Control (DTC). Also, the bike continued to use the electronic ride-by-wire system that allowed the rider to switch between four riding modes, Sport, Touring, Urban, and Enduro, with different power and safety specifications for each mode.

In the appearance department, the bike was fitted with standard features, such as a front fairing with a dual headlight layout and a tall windscreen, a two-piece double seat with a passenger handle, engine guards, and 10-spoke lightweight alloy wheels.

As for the power figures, the 2014 Ducati Multistrada 1200 packed underneath its fuel tank a 1,198cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine that delivered an output power of 160 hp with a peak force at 9,500 rpm and 136 Nm (100 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.

In the braking department, the bike packed two 320 mm floating discs with four-piston calipers on the front wheel and a 265 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the rear wheel.
