The Ducati Multistrada was a sport-touring machine manufactured by Ducati since 2010, powered by a retuned version of the Testastretta engine used on the Ducati 1198 and available in three versions, the base, S, and S Touring.

In 2013, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati Multistrada 1200, a half-naked machine in its fourth year of production that brought several modifications, improving power and performance.

The 2013 model featured an active suspension system with a solenoid valve often called Sky-Hook method and a revised engine with twin-plug cylinder heads that delivered smoother, more efficient combustion and five percent more torque. In addition, the windscreen was larger and designed in a way that reduced noise at higher speeds.

In the appearance department, the bike was fitted with standard features, such as a

a front fairing with a dual headlight layout, a two-piece dual seat with a passenger grab rail, a single-sided swingarm, and redesigned 10-spoke lightweight alloy wheels.

Underneath its fuel tank, the 2013 Ducati Multistrada 1200 packed a 1,198cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine fed by a fuel injection system, delivering an output power of 160 hp with a peak at 9,500 rpm and 136 Nm (100 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.

In addition, the 1200 model was also available in a Granturismo version, with larger side cases, a top case, driving lights, and more touring-oriented tires.
