DUCATI Multistrada 1200 (2012-2013) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2012, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati Multistrada 1200, a half-naked machine part of the Multistrada family that comprised models with different engine displacements and similar appearances.

The Multistrada 1200 was the base version for the 1200S and 1200S Touring versions. In addition, the 2012 base model featured a redesigned seat for more rider movements, and ABS was delivered as standard for all 1200 models.

In the aesthetic departments, the 1200 base model was fitted with standard features, such as a half front fairing with a dual headlight system and a tall windscreen, a redesigned two-piece dual seat, a single-sided swingarm, 10-spoke alloy wheels, and a side stand.

Underneath its fuel tank, the 2012 Ducati Multistrada 1200 packed a 1,198cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine with pistons fed by an electronically controlled fuel injection system. The engine delivered 150 hp with a peak at 9,250 rpm and 119 Nm (88 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.

Both wheels were handled by an advanced suspension package, with a 50 mm fully adjustable upside-down Marzocchi telescopic fork on the front and a fully adjustable Sachs shock absorber on the rear.

As for the stopping power, the bike packed two 320 mm discs with four-piston Brembo calipers on the front wheel and a 245 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the rear wheel, providing excellent braking performance.
