DUCATI Multistrada 1100 (2008-2009) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2008, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati Multistrada 1100, a half-naked motorcycle part of the Multistrada range that comprised several models with different engine displacements but similar appearances.

The bike was in its second year of production and featured several minor modifications, such as fine tuning to the fuel injection system, a timer switch for the headlight, and tweaks to the decals that resembled the graphics of the Ducati 1098. In addition, the bike was also available in an S version that packed a race-derived Ohlins suspension system.

In the aesthetic departments, the bike was dressed in a half fairing with an adjustable windscreen, a two-piece dual seat with a passenger grab rail, a dual under-seat-mounted exhaust system, a single-sided swingarm, and five-spoke black-finished aluminum wheels.

As for power, the 2008 Ducati Multistrada 1100 had its heartbeat set by a 1,078 cc four-stroke V-twin air-cooled engine fitted with an open-loop fuel injection system, boasting 95 hp with maximum strength at 7,750 rpm and 104 Nm (77 lb-ft) torque at 4,750 rpm.

With a dry weight of 196 kg (432 lbs) and a six-speed manual transmission that worked in tandem with the engine, the power was transferred to the rear wheel through a final chain drive, pushing the machine to 210 kph (130 mph).

As for the braking power, the Multistrada 1100's wheels were fitted with two 320 mm discs with four-piston calipers on the front and a single 245 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper on the rear, offering reliable stopping power.
